I read this the other day and thought it was interesting....
People who use tanning beds tend to have higher levels of vitamin D, a nutrient responsible for proper calcium absorption, according to The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. In a study of 156 adults who regularly tanned had a average of 90 percent MORE vitamin D in their blood and greater hip-bone density. Researchers believe that ultraviolet (UV) rays can jump start the chemical processes that create the usable form of the vitamin.
