i agree with using a contraceptive...my parents to this day dont know that i have had sex and wouldnt support me, so i went behind their backs and went to the health department and got a years worth of free birth control even if you are under 18 they wont contact your parents and also there is alot a teen can do to protect themselves without their parents ever knowing, like planned parenthood i went there twice to get the morning after pill and it was all confidential.

wow!!! i was on the patch too. shows how much that works. i never thought the patch was soo effective for some reason. but i know when alot of girls are on birth control they automatically think now i dont half to wear a condom. yuh we all know it feels hell of alot better but theres still those two resons why i still make my partner wear a condom too b/c the birth control is not 100% effective and risks of getting std's. ewwwwww noooooo!!!!!

Just because teens are having sex doesn't make it ok. :confused: It is a decision you make. There are many other ways to express your love for someone. If you give it away to every Tom, Dick and Harry it is not special anymore. That is just my opinion and it may be oldfashioned but I am not that old. :D

PS. I waited and it is not impossible. I found a man who loves me for me not for what I could give him in bed. I am not a prude I am very adventureous in bed, once it is with someone you love and cherish anything goes. :p

You know teenage pregnancy has always been a problem !! your generation is no different than the girls and couples of over 50 years ago !!! Except a boy or man stepped up tp the plate and married the girl, to make her an honest woman. The other alternative was the young lady went away to Aunt Margies, which was a an orphanage or halfway house for unwed mothers,where she deliverd the baby and it went to expectant waiting parents. I do not believe in contraceptives. If you want to avoid pregnancy, please dont have sex. I am a proud Catholic, and my husband and myself practice the natural family planning method. I do not judge those who use contraceptives, as I am mature enough to realize not everyone practices my beliefs. However, I do personally judge those who believe in taking the "morning after pill". The fact that the original poster stated that she did this on several occasions, makes me ill. I dont understand at what point in this teenage girl's life did she feel more important than Christ to take life into her own hands. I pray that today she has had a change of heart, and practices abstinence or the use of contraceptives to prevent pregnancy.

I basically chart my fetility and keep track of my cycle. We have sex throughout the month except for the few days when my fertility is peaking, which is right around the ovulation day. As a Catholic family, we do not believe in birth control or "pulling out", so we choose not to have sex on my fertile days. Once a woman charts her cycle/fertility it is very easy to figure out.

Basically, we believe that having sex just to have sex is selfish and full of sin. That doesnt mean we dont have fun or get wild, but we do it as man and wife.

Of course it is, but that is a risk you take : ) We had been trying, and this we conceived on our 3rd cycle of trying. It was one of those....okay our oldest is 3, so we know we need to get started on making the 2nd. I dont want my children too incredibly spaced out... The way it is going to work out...Our children will be 3 years and 10 months apart.

There is room for error, however when you know what you are doing, and you truly "know" your body, it NFP can be just as effective as a pill.

I chart with Fertility Friend, ovulation tests ( you can get from drug stores or super markets) and use my Basal Body Thermometer. I have yet to check my cervical mucus or the position of my cervix, because sticking my finger inside me to touch my cervix, just sounds painful and disgusting.

I have nothing against prevention. plus, theres always certian things taken in different ways. one can take a vicodin for post surgery or take it because they want to get high (or something..bad example!) i see BC the same way..some get very ill to where they cannot normally function without the proper hormones leveling or whatever or have a period 24/7 without taking it ,so it helps alot for those reasons rather than using it for the purpose of preventing getting pregnant.
